Clinic Spotlight: People's Health Clinic
Strengthening Healthcare Access for Utah's Workforce
Every community has people who quietly keep it running — the restaurant staff, hotel employees, construction workers, landscapers, childcare providers, and countless others who make daily life possible. For many of these individuals in Summit and Wasatch Counties, People's Health Clinic is where they turn when healthcare would otherwise be out of reach.
During our recent visit with the clinic's leadership team, one message stood out above everything else:
"Care comes first. Money follows."
That philosophy is reflected throughout the clinic. Every decision is centered on providing quality care, regardless of a patient's ability to pay.
Founded in 1999, People's Health Clinic has grown from a mobile medical van into one of northern Utah's most important community health resources, providing comprehensive medical care at no cost for uninsured residents of Summit and Wasatch Counties.
Meeting a Growing Need
As demand for affordable healthcare continues to rise, so does the clinic's workload.
Today, People's Health Clinic operates with:
More than 21,000 patient encounters each year
Approximately 16,000 patient visits annually according to clinic staff
Nine full-time staff members supported by 40 volunteer physicians
Eight exam rooms and an on-site laboratory capable of completing many blood and urine tests without sending patients elsewhere
A patient population where nearly 97% live below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level
Despite serving thousands of patients, the clinic operates on an annual budget of roughly $3.8 million, relying heavily on grants, fundraising, and community support after reductions in federal funding.

Helping Resources Go Further
Organizations like People's Health Clinic don't simply need more funding — they need every dollar to work harder.
That's where Globus Relief comes in.
Throughnonprofitmedicalsupply.org, Globus Relief helps nonprofit clinics significantly reduce the cost of medical supplies by connecting donated medical products from Utah's largest healthcare providers with community clinics that need them most.
Over the past several years, the portal has helped Utah healthcare safety-net clinics reduce medical supply costs by 80–100%, allowing organizations to redirect precious resources toward patient care instead of purchasing supplies.
Utah's charitable and community health centers serve an estimated 220,000 Utahns every year, helping reduce unnecessary emergency room visits while providing care for individuals who often fall outside traditional insurance systems. Globus Relief serves as the nonprofit medical supply hub connecting excess medical supplies with the organizations delivering care where it's needed most.

Building the Partnership
During our visit, the clinic team explored the nonprofit medical supply portal and identified several immediate opportunities where donated supplies could stretch their budget even further.
Current priorities include:
Orthopedic devices
Sutures
Gauze
Catheters
The clinic's purchasing leadership expressed interest in a hands-on walkthrough of the ordering platform, scheduled for early September once key staff members return.
By helping organizations like People's Health Clinic reduce operating costs, Globus Relief isn't just providing supplies — we're helping ensure more Utah families can receive quality healthcare regardless of their financial situation.

How You Can Help
The impact of partnerships like these is only possible because of generous healthcare organizations, volunteers, and donors who believe everyone deserves access to quality care.
Whether you're a healthcare provider looking to donate surplus medical supplies, an individual interested in volunteering, or someone who wants to make a financial contribution, you can help expand access to lifesaving medical resources for nonprofit clinics and organizations across Utah and around the world.
